Welcome Home Alaina!

I would like to introduce you to the world’s cutest little hairy werewolf .  We like to call her Alaina and she is just over three weeks old now.   The delivery went well and mom and baby are both healthy.  Alaina is a great baby, only fusses when it’s time to eat, which happens quite often because she’s a pretty big baby…and growing FAST!  At birth she was 8lbs 12oz and she already close to 9.5lbs!  I think all she does right now is eat, sleep, and poop, but I know she is just trying to get as strong as possible before she actually has to fend for herself against her big sister who is 3 years old now.

Baby girl in a Decorative Hatbox

We found this lovely hat box at Hobby Lobby, and Katy made that beautiful headband out of a fake Gerber daisy and an old headband we had around the house.

Newborn Baby Portrait

Having a photography for a dad, Alaina is quite used to bright lights flashing all around her!  I like to point out her hairy arm in this shot!  Probably because I still can’t tell which parent she resembles more, and I know that she gets the hair from me :)

Mom holding baby and toddler laughing

I had to share this perfect moment between Abby and Mommy!  So far, Abby has been a great big sister.  Being 3, you have to watch because she can get a little rough, but she is very proud of Alaina and “checks on her” every time she falls asleep.  That usually means “wakes her up” but Abby means well!

Kara and Randy

I recently shot Kara and Randy’s wedding at Kye’s in Jeffersonville, IN.  As a wedding photographer in Louisville, KY,  I find Kye’s to be a great place to host your wedding.  It presents several unique areas for photo opportunities, looks great, and can host a LOT of people.  Kara and Randy had their wedding outside under a tent in front of a fountain, and the reception took place inside.   Both spaces were very nice, I especially enjoyed the modern decor inside.  If you are looking for another way to save money, having the wedding and reception in the same location will save on limo costs!  Kye’s style is the perfect mix of elegant and modern.  So without any further adieu, here is a sneak peak at Kara and Randy’s wedding!

Getting ReadyThe bride, in deep thought, is about to be adorned with jewelry.

Here, the groom waits for his soon to be bride out in the courtyard where this ceremony is taking place.  Notice the interesting water feature in the foreground!

Kye’s features huge spaces with exposed beams and duct work.  Here, the wedding party is

Cute Video of my Daughter

My daughter’s name is Abby and she’s 2 years old.  We are currently trying to potty train her and I have to say that it’s going very well.  We went straight from diapers to undies, and I will recommend this technique.  First of all, training diapers are expensive; and secondly, the few times that Abby did wear training diapers she was seemingly unaware of when she got wet.  The one downside of using undies is that you have to be prepared to clean a few messes.  But we are seeing very good results in only a few days, in fact, Abby made a number 2 on the big girl potty yesterday!!

Anyway, I wanted to share a little video I took of Abby outside one day.  I have to say that she is a bug lover.  Not a big fan of spiders, but enjoys rollie pollies, butterflies, and locust shells.  One day we were fortunate enough to spot a baby salamander outside, and she got a real kick out of that!  Here is the link to the video :)

Hello

Hey everybody, thanks for visiting the brand spankin’ new blog.  We are currently working on it, so as of right now there are no pictures, and I don’t know if every function works just yet.  But we would love to have some feedback from you.  Do you enjoy the new appearance?  If you find any bugs, please feel free to point them out.  We hope this blog will better serve as a way to show who we are and how fun it is to work with us as your photographers.  Right now the only things working are a couple About Us pages (see the links at the top left under ‘Pages’), but that’s basically the same information you’ll find on our website: www.jmusicphoto.com

So thanks again for checking us out and stay tuned for more!
