With a Passion...
Our love for people and for photography moved us to
start J. Music Photo in June of 2006.

When I'm not changing poopy diapers or chasing my daughter Abby around the Zoo, I'm usually working as a full time photographer. The rest of my time is spent with my wonderful wife Katy. I have a great passion for fine art photography and have been an artist for longer than I can remember...hint* I was born this way! I love to draw, and paint, and dabble in many art mediums, so I had a hard time focusing my college Art Major in one direction until I discovered Photography 101 in 1998. Since then I have taken a gazillion pictures and would love to capture your special event.

My seventy-seven year old mom still introduces me
as her "youngin" (at fifty-five it keeps me feeling young).
My six grandchildren call me "Papaw Dave" except for
Abby who calls me "Pepoo." My love for
photography began as a child while looking through
Granny's cedar chest full of old pictures...you could
spend hours and still not see them all.
I joined the US Airforce in 1971 and bought my
first camera, a Kodak 110 Instamatic. Pictures
of the morning sunrise above the clouds at 36,000 feet,
two bear cubs at the top of a seventy foot Elm tree
overlooking a lake high in the mountains of Yosemite
National Park, pictures taken of the great Rocky
mountains while driving at 80 mph, and hundreds of
others, produced memories and a true love for the
camera that I still treasure today.
I don't hold a degree in photography, but a son that
does and who has taught me well regarding apertures,
white balance, speed relative to lighting, color balance,
composition, camera shake, and many details regarding
photography.
Like Jimmy, I hold to a strong faith in God, have
a wonderful family and many friends, and am always
willing to lend a helping hand.

Both my dad and I are very emotional and have
been known to choke back a tear or two at the
weddings we have done. Call us old fashioned
if you will, but expect to see us open doors, tip our hats,
lay our jackets over the puddles, and pull out the
chairs for the ladies...Did I mention ABBY!!!
